Privacy Policy

We never sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run BuiltForShops, such as the companies that deliver our texts and emails, and they can’t use it for anything else. Our website also uses the Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure our ads, explained below.

Your customer list is never shared or sold to other businesses.

We never sell or share your mobile number or text opt-in consent with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. See our SMS Terms.

Text messages and your phone number

We will not share your opt-in to a text message program with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that program. We may share your personal data, including your text opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including platform providers, phone companies and any other vendors who assist us in delivering text messages. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Text messages: Shop owners get BuiltForShops job alerts and account notices by text only if they check the optional text box at signup. We always ask a shop's customers to opt in before texting them. On a shop's online-order checkout, order-update texts and specials-and-deals texts are two separate, optional checkboxes, and neither is required to order. Anyone can reply STOP anytime to stop texts, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. We never sell or share mobile numbers or text opt-in data with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes.

Exports you upload (for example from Jobber) are used only to set up your account and scorecard, and are deleted after 90 days unless you become a customer.

Ads, measurement and cookies

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram. To see which ads actually help shop owners find us, our website uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram).

When you visit our site, the pixel can set cookies in your browser and send Meta basic details about the visit: the page you viewed, and whether you requested a free scorecard, finished signing up, or completed checkout. Meta also receives things your browser shares with any website, such as your IP address and browser type. Meta may connect this to a Facebook or Instagram account you’re logged into.

We use this to count results from our ads and to show our ads to people more likely to find them useful. Your name, email, mobile number and customer list are never sent to Meta through the pixel.

Meta’s use of this information is covered by Meta’s Privacy Policy.

We also advertise on Google. To see which of those ads lead to scorecard requests, sign-ups and purchases, our website uses the Google tag for Google Ads conversion tracking. When you arrive from a Google ad, we save the ad’s click ID (the gclid, gbraid or wbraid code in the web address) in a cookie and in your browser’s local storage on our own site for up to 90 days, so a later sign-up can be matched to that ad. Google may also set its own cookies, and it receives things your browser shares with any website, such as your IP address and browser type.

When you submit one of our forms or buy a plan, we may send Google a hashed copy of your email address. Hashing scrambles it into a code (SHA-256) before it’s sent, so we never send it in readable form. Google uses this only to match the result to an ad click and measure our ads, under its terms for this feature.

Meta may also receive a hashed (scrambled) copy of your email address from our server when you submit a form or buy a plan, to measure how our ads perform, but only when we have that setting turned on. It is never sent in readable form.

Google’s use of this information is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy.
